MarketSource Career Site: Unveiling a New Brand and a New Site with Mobile Response and Job Search Capability

For more than 40 years, MarketSource has created and delivered sales, marketing and sales force training solutions for some of the world’s best brands. Much of the company’s work takes place behind the scenes, with MarketSource employees regularly wearing the uniforms of the clients they serve. It’s a flexible, powerful way of helping clients drive ROI, but it left MarketSource with a lack of brand awareness in the job market, especially among seasoned salespeople. MarketSource turned to IBM Employment Branding for a fully integrated, mobile-responsive career site that would showcase its new employment brand.

The history: MarketSource began working with IBM in 2015 when it selected the IBM® Kenexa® Talent Suite—including IBM® Kenexa® BrassRing on Cloud, IBM® Kenexa® Onboarding on Cloud and IBM Kenexa BrassRing Candidate Relationship Manager. The company had a solid concept for a new employment brand, “MarketSource Your Career,” but had not yet supported this concept externally. Its existing careers content was a single page on the MarketSource corporate site. The organization was ready to graduate to a mobile-responsive career site including job search API integrations with its applicant tracking system and an invitation for site visitors to join its talent network.

The need: MarketSource had been successful in attracting techno-savvy candidates, but not enough experienced salespeople. It needed candidates who were both. The company also wanted candidates to understand up front that they would be wearing the uniforms of clients—not MarketSource—even as MarketSource employees. The new site provided a platform to develop the brand, promote the culture, and give candidates a better picture of the work they would be doing. Advanced functionality was important in its own right, but also to validate the tech-savvy image the organization wanted to promote.

The solution: The Employment Branding team created a seamless job search experience for candidates. Driven by the “MarketSource Your Career” branding message, the site appeals to ambitious salespeople interested in working with consumer tech. The new site leverages existing testimonials and other content to create a clear picture of what it’s like to work at MarketSource. Launched in March 2016, the MarketSource career site gives candidates a way to learn about the company, search and apply for jobs, and connect with a community of other candidates and current MarketSource employees. It also provides the company with a centerpiece for its broader recruitment and employment branding efforts to attract, connect with and retain top talent.
