IBM Employment Branding Launches Interactive Careers Tab for Cabela’s Facebook Page
An interactive careers tab for Cabela’s was developed by the IBM Employment Branding team for followers and candidates to view open requisitions and learn more about Cabela’s organizational culture on Facebook. Cabela’s is the world’s foremost outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, and employs more than 12,000 people in the United States and Canada.

The history: With a long-standing history of working together on promoting its organizational culture to attract top talent, Cabela’s turned once again to the IBM Employment Branding team to expand its social recruiting efforts on Facebook.
The need: Cabela’s sought a Facebook application that would allow followers to learn more about what it’s like to work at the company and help them view current job openings at the organization. The application also needed to automatically update with the company’s existing applicant tracking system, IBM® Kenexa® BrassRing on Cloud. This would ensure that the job openings were current and would avoid duplicating efforts for the company.
The solution: Based on the culture research and analysis provided by IBM Employment Branding several years earlier, the Employment Branding team developed an application, featuring three distinct tabs. These tabs allow followers to view current openings, understand what it’s like to work at the company from the perspective of existing employees, and read the employee value proposition (EVP) statements. The development of this application helps extend Cabela’s employment brand and makes the company even more accessible to top talent through social media.
